Electric Quilt 8 Quilt Design Training

Electric Quilt 8 (EQ8) is recognized as one of the world’s leading quilt design software programs, allowing quilters to design projects, explore creative possibilities, and accurately calculate fabric requirements with ease.

EQ8 is ideal for both beginner and experienced quilters and is designed for users with all levels of computer experience.

In this beginner-level course, students will focus on the fundamental steps of creating quilts using EQ8. The class is designed to provide a strong foundation while making the learning experience engaging and enjoyable.

Participants will learn how to:

• • Navigate and use the essential EQ8 design tools
  • Create basic quilt designs from start to finish
  • Modify blocks from the EQ Block Library to fit individual projects
  • Design custom blocks from scratch
  • Add borders using a variety of widths and styles
  • Expand EQ8 by incorporating additional fabric collections
  • Explore printing options and generate yardage estimates

During the class, students will create 2–3 simple quilts from scratch, allowing them to apply newly learned skills through hands-on practice.
